Onbezonnen: An exploration of the outdated nature of our brains.

Elsbeth wrote the bachelor’s thesis, “Onbezonnen” (2021), at ArtEZ University of the Arts. This research focused on the influence of social media algorithms on the human brain and examined their impact. It advocated for a curious, patient, and empathetic perspective, aiming to cultivate in the reader a critical awareness of their subjective perception and social media’s influence on it. In her research, she delved into sensory processing in the brain and discussed the concept of subversive affirmation. The Truman Show was a significant source of inspiration for this study.
